We arrived in Huahine on March 10, 2019 on the Paul Gauguin. We did the Sacred Sites and Legendary Places tour run led by Paul Atallah. This tour stopped at a vanilla farm, a marae, a lookout and at the famous blue eyed eel stream. Paul was a wealth of knowledge about everything from Polynesian culture to botany to everyday life in Society Islands. But his forte is anthropology. He made the mindset of the Polynesian peoples come alive. I now understand so much more about their spread across the Pacific and their interactions with the first Europeans. I highly recommend his tour for anyone into the history and culture of this part of the world.
